on our site the tap water is unsuitable for drinking (it comes from a storage tank not mains) We have water dispensers for staff. But is the tap water suitable for washing food utensils for staff?

Posted By J Knight Surely it would depend on why it was unfit for drinking? It may be perfectly clean enough to wash up with, but could for example be over warm because it passes too near to hot pipes,

If the water is not for drinking, then its not for washing items used in the preparation or delivery of food...
