Posted By Dr. Muazzam Nasrullah Hi! I am a medical doctor. I did my Master in Safety Promotion from one of the world's leading medical research institute Karolinska Insitute, Sweden, known for its Nobel prize awarding body. I covered all aspects of safety in a community in my Master including Occupational Health and Safety. Though I have not given UK based NEBOSH, I feel that I fully qualified for the membership of IOSH. Please could you people guide me how I can get the membership of IOSH, in my case. Regards, Muazzam

Posted By CFT Dr.Nasrullah You will need to write to IOSH and supply copies of your credentials; they will then be in a position to advise you what level of membership may be offered. CFT

Posted By Ian Waldram Look at the section 'about membership', on the left of the webpage. If you are ready, all you need to do is complete the form and send your supporting documents and money! However, if you look at the details, you will see that, assuming your degree is accepted as 'cognate', you will still have to compile an IPD portfolio, possibly take an open book exam and finally have a professional interview in order to achieve Corporate membership. I'm sure we would be delighted to have you as a member, but it will take a while to achieve full membership - this applies to everyone, whatever their qualifications. The website gives contact details for the membership department, but I know they won't be able to commit to any specific result until they have seen all your supporting documents. However they can give general advice, and may know about your Swedish qualification and the extent to which it covers the whole syllabus of underpinning knowledge expected for IOSH members.
