Posted By Hugo I have recently been approached to commence a Quality Policy and Procedure for Health, Safety and Environment within a services / utilities organisation. Many of the workforce are sited remotely and a great deal of the work involves power supply. Also within the scope there is a responsibility to provide a duty of care for lone workers and static security staff. I have not studied Quality from a formal approach but can see how assessments inspections etc are tools of the Quality control. Is there a book / disc, templates available which could direct and assist in the completion of the QHSE document? Thanks Hugo.

Posted By Hugo I have found pretty much what I need, in the IOSH technical bulletin -Systems in Focus- for the format I need. If anyone can forward me samples of policy or systems of audit type docs I would be grateful. This is a bit of a mountain for me so any help would go a long way. Any ex forces, or fire service guys or girls out there, I would appreciate your help. I know there are a lot of Ex Sappers in the game, sorry guys but I'm a dropshort - group hugs etc etc.

Posted By Ian G Hutchings Hugo I think the document needs to reflect what happens and/or what should happen to effectively manage QHSE. I am sure if you search the web you'll be able to find loads of examples of policies. The examples I have tend to be documents I have created that are specific to a client or company based on review of the business and then setting policy etc. with the directors. I think quality, like HS&E, has to be more than just having a template and changing it to suit the business. Otherwise you may as well just buy one off E-Bay. I know there are quite a few people on the forum who manage 'Q' as well as 'HSE', so they may be able to send you an example. I would recommend that policy is only written to reflect the value for it in the business and statements that truly aspire to improve, not just the usual compliance statements. All the best Ian
