As I dont have a knowledge of UK H&S legislation, could somebody help me with the following?

Do you have some documents or overviews which describe the H&S regulations (e.g. CDM) for small construction sites?

Its not a big construction site, following works will apply:
- painting (max 2 persons)

- plumber (installation electric kettle, dish washer)

- electrician (test dataports, install few dataports and power switches)

- installation of sun-blinds

- cleaning staff during installation work

- mover (delivery and arrangement of furnitures,...)

- IT technicians (install server, hardware,...)

- Communication technician (install communication equipment)

- Communication companies (install lines)

Thats more or less all, as I understand special rules when CDM will apply.

Perhaps you can provide me with the essential information or some details.

Thank you very much in advance.

Anders,

HSE has a page dedicated to Construction, at http://www.hse.gov.uk/construction/index.htm, which has links through to a variety of resources. You might also find www.opsi.gov.uk useful as this makes all UK regulations available free of charge; do a search under construction or health and safety,

Thanks John,

I have already had a look at the sites but was looking for something more. The HSE site doesnt really seem to have the information im looking for e.g H&S regulations (e.g. CDM) for small construction sites, but more details the new CDM 2007 and when they are going to be implemented etc

I cant seem to find anything more specific anyway?

Anders,

The work you outline may not fall within (traditional) CDM because the numbers indicate a short-duration project. They will of course attract the safety requirements within the new CDM and previously in the CHSW Regulations. You are welcome to email me direct if you aren't sure about anything.

Hi Anders,

If you want the ACOP you have to buy it unless you subscribe to one of the online services which give you access to HSE Books priced publications. I have been told that this situation will change this year, but so far there's no sign of this happening,

Anders you can buy it through the links on the HSE website to HSE books http://www.hse.gov.uk/flist/index.htm.

Or if your company has access to a technical subscription service i.e IHS Technical Indexes it is avilable to download for your company's use.
