Posted By songwriter I'm sorry if i offend anyone but a person in our small office has a disgusting habit, using his finger and his nose, followed by a wiping routine. i know this is absolutely disgusting and i have tried to chat to him about it but he just laughs and i get no backing from the other members in the office even tho they do agree with me. Where do i stand, what can i do, please help. thank you in advance and once again, i appologise.

Posted By MetalMan "HEALTH AND SAFETY KILLJOYS STOP MAN PICKING NOSE!" Yes I can see that one on the front page right now, anyone fancy having a go at this one? I would say that although there could possibly be a risk from the spread of infectious diseases (same for spitting) your best bet would be to speak to your HR department or your line Manager first.

Posted By MAK guys whether this was a wind-up or not can we at least show a bit of compassion just in case.
Songwriter may be feeling physically sick in his/her work place on a daily basis at the thought of having to work anywhere near the nosepicker and his wiping habitat.
I know some pople dont mind, but others have experienced physical revulsion at some visible evidence of some peoples tendencies to display bodily byproducts!
I would be sick if I encountered this type of residue!

Posted By Melanie Fellows Hopefully your company doesn't operate a 'hot desking' policy!!! Seriously though, how about erecting a partition to conceal the creature and his dirty habit or rearranging your desk to he is not in your line of sight?

Posted By Christopher This sort of behaviour may be construed as misconduct. If it is behaviour which is causing physical or mental distress then it needs to be addressed by Personal/Manager.
If someone is placing their finger into a part of their body and not washing their hands prior to touching phones, keyboards, desks etc. then everyone gets to have a share of someone else's body rejects. Would everyone feel happy if the same individual went to the toilet and came back touched all in sundry, then told staff what action they had taken?
If this is a windup, then so be it. However, I have seen a member of staff actually perform this activity and he was a Consultant!!!

Posted By Clare Gabriel NOSE PICKING CAUSES PILE UP
TRUE STORY - Friend of mine was a traffic police officer and one day went to a road crash where, when they got to one of the cars the victim was slumped agains the wheel and the car was splattered in blood. They informed the ambulance thinking the guy was badly injured. After a few moments the ambulanceman came over - it turns out that at the moment of impact the guy was picking his nose. The impact rammed his nose far up his orofice and caused a nosebleed that caused him to pass out.......he was fine actually - just a bit of whiplash.
Let that be a lesson to all you nose picking drivers. Who says mobile phones are dangerous?
