Your request is so vague, it is difficult to know what you are looking for.
The historical patterns of evolution of Irish legislation offers a couple of points of contrast:
1. From independence in 1922 to 1989, the framework of British law coloured the formulation of Irish law including from the 1960s employment and safety law;
2. Since 1989,the EU Directives and scienfitif research have been a source of influence on both countries

With regard to Irish V UK legislation,
I take it that you are querying the difference.
In Ireland for Health and Safety we use the 2005 Safety Health and Welfare act. THis is as the latest. We also use the recently updated Regs such as Working at Height.
Here that are some differences.
In the UK Personal Fall Protection is higher on the scale than group measures.
In Ireland the use of groupp measures should be looked at first.
This would be the likes of Safety netting over personal fall arrest systems.

In relation to court cases if there is no Irish law covering it, they look to UK legisaltion. This will be the same with standards used No ISO then use EU Norm's then BS.
