Posted By Merv Newman Bruce, on the log-in page you can read this next to the "remember me" tick box : "Your login information is currently stored as a cookie on your computer. This means that each time you visit our forums, your username and password will be automatically recognised giving you quicker access. To remove the cookie, please uncheck the box. Once removed you will have to re enter your username and password each time you visit the forum" It may be that you have an automatic cookie-killer on your computer Merv

Posted By Robert K Lewis Bruce Many firewalls and similar contain anti-cookie code so the Windows offer to remember is of no use until you disable the source of the problem. Company computers are not normally susceptible to such a change - unless you aare the IT person! Bob

Posted By Bill Parkinson I have 2 firewalls, 3 anti spyware programs, anti virus, privacy software and also anti phishing software running and don't have a problem with it remembering my log in details. You need to have your settings set to allow cookies to be downloaded or to have the IOSH website as a trusted site within your firewall settings. However, having said that when the programmes are upgraded they may "forget" your details so you need to reinput and tick the remember me box again (so make sure you have them somewhere to hand or can remember them). Regards Bill

Posted By CFT Bruce Mozilla Firefox as an Internet browser will make life easy for you. I have been running it now for several months and apart from not being able to enter points value in CPD it handles log in/out perfectly. Oh and it's free by the way. CFT

Posted By Merv Newman "trusted site" is best. If you let cookies in then you risk all sorts of data-loggers. There goes your password and credit card details. All the way to Moscow. Or even Watford. Merv

Posted By lonergan1234 Bruce, On newer versions of windows the delete history facility now includes passwords. If you need to use this facility for whatever reason you must select individually the stuff you want to delete. Else... stop looking at porn and you wont have any need to delete history.

Posted By Stuart Webster There are some very good programs available that can be used to generate new passwords and remember them for every site that you visit on the web. The good ones use full encryption and you use the mouse to select the passwords originally and hence cannot be hacked by key-logger programs that trace what you type into the keyboard. Once set up it will automatically log you at a click of a button for each site or bank account etc should you include such information and will save a lot of time. Just keep a manual copy under lock and key of all your passwords just to be on the safe side! I can recommend a program that was recommended to me should you wish?
