Posted By Gary M Bell Is anyone able to recommend any suppliers of Behavioural Based Driver training? I am not a great fan of 1 2 1 vehicle training and not that impressed with on line training programmes that I have seen. thanks

Posted By Merv Newman Gary, can't help with a supplier but on the BBS side we did "Good Mates" buddy drives. On the trip out (to a client maybe) the junior drives and then they stop for a cuppa while the boss tells junior of the three best things junior did. On the way back the boss drives. Then they stop for a cuppa and junior tells boss of the three best things he did. No reports or score sheets. Just between good mates. Merv

Posted By Brett Day Have used online permit to drive systems and haven't been impressed with them, the 'test' Questions on the systems I've used have often missed the main hazard in the picture and have had contradictory information (example one section talks about the distraction of mobile phones and another talks about using mobile phone traffic services), the latest I used was RiskMaster, myself being Police Class 1 trained and a collegue also Police Class 1 Trained took the test, one of us passed and the other was failed!! Hardly what I'd call consistant. I was told by my Class 1 instructor that the best method of assessing a driver was a written/verbal test and a minimum 45 minute drive, that way the shortfalls of both tests can be balanced. It's been working well for Hendon since the 6th Earl of Cottenham set up 'The System'. IAM and RoSPA both have commercial versions of the IAM Advanced and the RoSPA ROADA schemes, maybe worth a look.

Posted By Kieran J Duignan Gary I would find it a lot easier to consider a specific recommendation if you indicated what you want to achieve by 'Behavioural Based Driver Training' as that can mean very different things.
