Posted By Robert Paterson Hi All Looking for some information. Can anyone tell me the distance a guard should be away from moving parts to prevent access to moving parts. Is there a minimum distance. When looking at the PUWER section on HSE Website it refers to BS EN for distances and heights but I don't have access to BS EN. If anyone is wanting to reply direct then please use robert.paterson@jeyes.co.uk and not email at top of posting - home email Thanks for any help Regards Robert

Distance varies depending on the size of the opening.
You also need to consider whether the recommendations within the BS EN provide adequate protection for your workforce. Many of the numbers were traditionally worked out on the basis of white european males.
