Posted By anon1234 I was looking at some job adverts recently and it is amazing how many jobs are being advertised for planning supervisors (and these have been posted since the new regs came in). How many 'construction related companies' and 'specialist H&S recruitment agencies' haven't worked out this role has gone? Also, when having interviewed for a number of posts (fairly senior ones as well) it is amazaing how many applicants come in and talk complete rubbish about 'legislation' by completely misquoting what is required or other 'related(?)' facts - for example the number of people who keep telling me that as part of implementing fire safety arrangements they would apply for a fire certificate for the offices due to the numbers of peole located in the building above the ground floor!

Posted By holmezy Anon, Ignorance is bliss! A little knowledge is a dangerous thing? It makes me chuckle when looking through adverts when people, (sometimes agencies!!) are asking for levels of competence or IOSH membership that have long been superceeded! Worrying thing is that some of these "experts" end up in employment working for bosses who are obviously none the wiser? Me....well my boss knows I'm an idiot, so at least I'm honest, if not a little knowledgable!! Holmezy Worlds a funny place.
