Hi folks, i'm currently trying to gather some ideas for my masters thesis in health and safety and as i work part time in a private psychology/psychiatric clinic that specialises in trauma, i had considered doing some research into the psychological trauma suffered by those who had experienced severe accidents within a health and safety context.

Has anybody heard of any research carried out in this field or carried out any themselves.

Thanks Hayley.

There was a well-researched presentation at IOSH Conference last month on workplace trauma in Royal Mail - typically security incidents rather than accidental injury. Data was about what management actions lessen the effects/aid recovery and why one-off counselling has negative correlation with benefits to the traumatised person.

Presenters were Jo Rick, U of Shiffield and Andrew Kinder, Atos Origin.
