I would have thought those qualifications would be more than enough to get a job behind a bar :)

Hi Debbie,

As a safety practitioner in the UK looking to emigrate to Australia I would suggest that the approach to health and safety management i.e. risk based will be the same in the UK and Australia.

The only big difference being in the regulatory framework. Your friend might want to consider completing a H&S Law module of a UK qualification.

If your friend has a visa or is entitled to work in the UK it may be worth him contacting some health and safety recruitment agencies to register and get some advice on qualifications etc.

As Peter pointed out there are IOSH recognised Australian qualifications (which appear to be limited in number) however you do not have to be a member of IOSH to practice health and safety in the UK. Although it certainly does help.

Regards,

Laura
