Posted By HissingSid Hi folks, My son has just joined a company that installs electronic security and fire systems and has brought home some of the health and safety induction material that he was given.
My concern is that to my mind it seems a little brief and lacking in content. Whilst I could have a pretty good go at identifying what topics should be covered, before I voice any concerns I was hoping to get opinions from anyone working or experienced in this field on the topics that you thought should be covered, especially to a trainee. Thanks.

Posted By Steve Cartwright When doing inductions its best not to overload the individuals with information. There is a saying Keep it Simple Stupid KISS for short.
Things to be included in an induction are, what to do in the event of an emergency, who to report accidents to, welfare facilities, Job specific training like working at height, lone working etc.
You don't say if your son is already an electrician. Most installers have an electrical back ground. The other problem is if they are given too much information they will probably not take it in.
