Posted By Peter MacDonald Hi
Can anyone point me in the direction of any guidance or other sources of information relating to working over water. In this case removal of bridge sections over a river. I've done my own RA but would like to make sure it's comprehensive (specific to the water as a hazard).

Posted By Ron Hunter The heirarchy of Work at Height Regs. should be applied first and foremost. In the event it is not possible to prevent falls, then there are a lot of variables to be taken into account, including "dynamic" ones of weather, water depth and flow, tides, actual working height above the water, obstructions in the water, etc. Measures could range from lifejackets to boat rescue depending on circumstances. The Section "Prevention of Drowning" in HSG150(rev) gives some useful pointers, but I'd focus on prevention measures w.r.t. WAHR first.

I've been taken aback at the amount and quality of info and sources of info provided.
Thanks to all who contacted me. I've more than enough material to work on now.
