Questions for those who are in charge of OHS within a company.

How do you plan out your yearly calender to ensure all areas of OHS are reviewed and acted upon accordingly?

What format and how often do you report to your MD on matters of health and safety in general?

Thank you.

On an annual basis I plot all areas on to a simple excel spread sheet. I then give a colour coding of when it is due, completed, delayed etc. I am then able to make a report on the actual activity against the planned activity.
I complete a report to the Senior Management Team on a monthly basis on: Accidents, Near miss, Incident Reports, Inspections completed, Fire checks, audits, any visits from HSE/LA etc., training delivered, toolbox talks etc
It doesn't need to be reams but to the point information.
You will need to decide along with your MD what information is essential and what information is 'nice to know' and develop your own report around that.
Hope this helps, and good luck

I diary my annual workplace assessment well in advance. I have a central risk assessment register which highlights when reviews are due and all paperwork is marked with review dates. I report monthly to senior management with progress on my business plan and planning for the following month and a 6 monthly reports to the board with all the statistics. I also report any current H&S issues regularly to the H&S champion on the board.

Thank you for the responses folks, If any one is willing to share their annual H&S planner with me, that would be great fully received, as I begin a new role shortly & too have a template to build & tweak to suit the organizations needs would be a great building block to have.
