Following our AGM yesterday it was agreed to open a web forum to allow members to suggest ideas and topics to take the branch forward. Please contribute any ideas you feel would benefit the branch.

These ideas will then be discussed by the branch exec on Saturday 19th May.

If you contact me direct (01386 832 311 or chris.packham@enviroderm.co.uk) I have some ideas that might be relevant.

Hi Phil,
The two ideas I liked were
1 - Integrated Management Systems (18001 etc and the benefits of integration)
2 - Interview techniques

Cheers, Jeff

Please could you consider doing a session on IPD and professional peer review.

This might be useful for attracting GradOSH members and those doing the Nebsoh diploma or equivalent to the meetings.

Thanks.

Phil,
We should consider a seminar on REACH at the local branch.

In addition, last week I attended an excellent seminar at Teeside on Dermatitis run by the HSE/HSL but organised by the Teeside branch of IOSH and the Teeside Safety Group. It was well attended however I only found out about the seminar through a colleague at work. I believe we should be promoting/advertising H&S Seminars & Workshops that are coming up in the region on our branch website.

The British Occupational Hygiene Society recently held a one-day seminar on REACH (in Norwich) and it is planned to repeat this in other locations. Perhaps the IOSH Tyne and Wear branch should contact the BOSH to see if they could collaborate.

Come on Tyne and Wear members, surely there is something burning that you would like to put forward. Its a chance for everyone to participate in branch thinking.

Phil

Further to the recent AGM, I have two specific areas for consideration:

Behavioural Safety Systems
Migrant Workers

If you need to discuss please feel free to contact me via the normal route.

Best regards

Steve
