Posted By GARRY WIZZ We are the principle contractor on a notifiable site which has been up and running for approx 3 months. Its not a complex project, renovation of a large warehouse and a 2 storey office block.
Obviously I am doing the H&S part and this is also the first time I have worked on a notifiable site.
The CDM Coord spoke with me on day one and we completed a questionnaire but I have not seen or heard of him since.
Is this normal.
Last week we built interior access points for the forklifts but I flagged up that we had no pedestrian doorways.I feel sure we should be talking but thought I would do a sound check to see what normally happens.

Posted By Arran Linton - Smith It is quite simple. The CDM Co-ordinator's organisation has a statutory duty to communicate and co-operate with you.

Posted By David Brede Arrans point is correct but the CDM-C should be ensuring that there is a flow of information regarding the site to you as Principal Contractor and (not necessarily a Pre Tender H&S Plan but these do serve the purpose) and that you are providing a Construction H&S Plan to demonstrate compliance and how you are managing the safety issues extant on the site and raising issues relating to the site with the client and designers.
So to do this should require communication with you and the other parties at frequent intervals to assure him or herself that this is actually happening.
