a sub contractor came to me with concerns when he erected balcony`s on my site. (cracks appeared on the concrete floor) as a precausionary measure i made some signage for the balcony doors and the immideate area below. as i collected the signage mangmnt summoned me and told me i could not erect the signage ( incase the client or c.o.w seen it.)what do i do ?

Hello James,

I suggest you should enquire as to how the cracks came about in the first place and close the area off until it is confirmed they pose no danger, this will of course need the use of signs and pro active management. Explain the risk to the person telling you to keep shtum and if he persists look for another job and tell the HSE.

i`ve went to my manager and we are getting a engineer in asap. these guys (management) dont give a toss for anyone all the want is there handovers. it`s wrong and more should be done from directors level to prevent guy`s like these getting anywhere near a building site. it`s because of the mis management that so many accident happen.
