Posted By P.R Has any body any information on "Cop2 training"? This is apparently in relation to groundworks? To be honest, it means nothing to me.

There are numerous codes of practice, section 2, appendix 2, chapter 2. If it is groundworks can you confirm or supply a bit more information for what you have been asked for, and for what reason? It will not only help you, it will enable us to point you precisely rather than a guess.

Posted By P.R Hello CFT, This is a query from a client, that I thought I was being silly for not knowing about. I obviously know all the ACOPS etc, but this was a request that all of our operatives attend COP2 training, before carrying out groundworks on their sites.
Looks as though I will have to speak to the client for clarification. I thought that HSG 47 was the main document for groundworks. Thanks anyway.

Posted By CFT I feel this is a BS EN reference and there are so many that I can't recall this particular one without further delving.Perhaps someone else may be able to offer assistance.
Sorry.

Posted By steve e ashton What do you mean by Groundworks? Could this be a reference to Control of Pesticides -training for professional users?
This is no more than an educated guess - I've never heard the training referred to by that name...
If I'm right, then COP1 would be for agricultural users, and COP3 for industrial (wood treatment etc)..
Hopefully someone out there will know the answer rather than guessing?

Posted By P.R Thanks for your replies.
It transpires that COP2, refers to our clients own internal code of practice and training. They require our engineers to attend this before breaking ground on their property.
They "assumed" that we knew!!!!!

Good thing about this might be that if there was no mention of this in the tender and main contract then you can claim additional contract value from the client. Whilst these codes etc are very laudable it does make life difficult if they are not clearly defined up front in contract documentation.
