Can anyone help with information on hair dryers used in leisure centres.

We use Estelle hair dryers (models B & C) and are experiencing problems, cables get damaged, the mesh filter at the rear gets blocked, kids nick the retaining disc that keeps the mesh filter in place. The bracket they sit in gets bent, the paint chips, they rust, they get broken into…

These are monitored regularly and any defects are rectified as necessary.

I wondered if anyone could advise of any other products which they may be using in a similar environment which we could consider as an alternative?

Is there any legal requirement for you to provide them? If not take them out and tell people its due to the level of vandalism. If users can't stop abusing something provided for their use then they should go without. The risk of electroction from damaged equipment is too hard to manage, it will need constant monitoring.

Center Parcs use hand driers mounted higher on the wall; would such an arrangement suit your application if you decide that you must provide hair drying?
