Hi All

In light of what has been happening over the last 6 months with cranes, I am seeking some guidance literature on the safe use of cranes, especially with regards to Self Erect Cranes- so if anyone out there could forward a copy of such literature to me, I would appreciate it.

Cheers,

Lee

Best starting point would be to get copies of BS 7121 pt 1 (safe use of cranes), pt 2 (inspecting & testing) and pt 5 (Tower cranes). Parts 3 and 4 relate to mobile cranes and lorry loaders. Hope this helps.

Chas,

Thanks for that.

But is there anything that you are aware of that is out there regarding any specific guidance on Self Erect Cranes?

I have contacted a supplier but am still awaiting some info.

Thanks,

Lee

Check out www.cpa.uk.net and look under the Special Interest Groups Tabs and then Tower Cranes.

Alternatively just follow this link:

If you can get in touch with some one in Laing O'Rourke sister company SELECT. they publish excellent documentation on cranes, Hoists and MEWPS.
If any one from Laings is reading - TOP STUFF.
