I'm looking to become a NEBOSH examiner and would be interested to hear of others experiences, particularly . . .
- What is the minimum commitment?
- Does it pay well?

The best advice I can give you is go to the NEBOSH website www.nebosh.org.uk
IOSH are a professional body while NEBOSH are an Awarding Body with no direct connection.

Pay well??? I don't think most do it for the pay, if they do it works out at less than the minimum wage once you factor travel and standardisation meetings into it.
Hopefully without sounding pompous I did it to put something back into the profession. An unexpected gain was the learning curve - it's amazing how much can be picked up when reading 70 different answers to the same questions, and the knowledge and varied experiences that pour out at the meetings from the other examiners.
It's a good experience.

I'll go with Peter. (though it has nothing to do with me) being an examiner really teaches you your job.
I don't do NEBOSH but, what ever you are training or assessing people on, you have to know more than them.
Good stuff.
