All uses and forms finally banned in 1995 following EU directive if I remember rightly:-)

Is your query regarding your duty to manage and what may be present in your newer buildings?
Profiled sheeting and friction linings (e.g. in passenger lift brakes) in use up to end 1999. Some degree of uncertainty has to be considered regarding material in the supply-chain and conceivable unwitting or deliberate undetected use.
If in any doubt -presume asbestos, have a sample taken and analysed.

In brief outline:
Asbestos (Prohibitions) Regulations 1985 - prohibited import, supply and use of crocidolite and amosite (grunerite), prohibited asbestos spraying, prohibited asbestos insulation
1988 - prohibition of paints, varnishes with some exceptions
1992 - prohibition on supply and use of certain products containing chrysotile, including tetured coating
1999 - import, supply and use of products containing chrysotile, with some 'scheduled' derogations e.g. safety-critical applications
