We are currently developing a course for the above.
Does anyone have any experience in this?

Don't forget to assess how high the containers / skips will be for unloading of waste from full wheelie bins.
Don't allow any clever people to cut off the lids so that more lengthy materials can be crammed tightly into this type of bin, causing problems when unloading.
Laden weights of bins to consider when moving from one area to another.
Bottom heavy / top heavy in your waste material - makes the wheelie bin less stable to move when full.
Just a few thoughts from our site waste disposal.

We only allow bins that the lid is closed to be emptied then only with caution

Hi Helen !
I did some manual handling training everal years ago for Telford Council and i found a good tool was to go out and film them. This made it light hearted because it made all the employees laugh at each other and they could physically see what they were doing wrong ! Also the filming included them wheeling the bin from the property to the vehicle and this shown the obstacles they encountered. Add that on to a Powerpoint presentation and you're on your way. If you need to, you can e-mail me and i may be able to help.
Regards JJ
