Yesterday afternoon our neighbours managed to drop a fifty foot pine tree into our garden. One of our trees and a compost box suffered but nothing else.
Husband, brother-in-law, wife and me all weighed in to get it sawn up and cleared as fast as possible. Why the rush ? The compost box wasn't going anywhere.
Two chain saws, people pulling out cut branches, and lengths of trunk. Not the least PPE (she was rather fetching in her shorts) No risk Assessment or SSOW. Kids watching from a "safe" distance.
Dashing through the hedge to get the bits out of our garden into theirs. As fast as possible. Why ?
30 minutes and the fifty foot tree was out of our garden. Maybe a few sore hands and a lot of sweat. No injuries.
Then we all went round to their place for a drink.
Why all the ruddy blush ? (Professor James Edwards, circa 1950)

Posted By Nick TM Patience The answer is in the question: "And then we go for a drink". We do it in a rush so that we then have more time to do the things that we want to do eg have a social drink. Forget the potential consequences of the rush - just so long as we have got more of OUR time to do the things we WANT to do.
