Smokefree signage for home office users - apologies if discussed earlier

Posted By Lyndon Sutcliffe Apologies if this has been discussed before.
We have ascertained that some of our sales reps are considered as home office users under the new Smokefree legislation. We need to provide signage for them to display but I am unsure whether they need to display the A5 worded sign or the 70mm symbol in their own home. We can't get a straight answer from the smokefree site people or the local authority (enforcers)on this. My opinion is that home office users will be loathe to diaplay an A5 size no smoking sign in their own home, but if they have to, then so be it.

Posted By DRB The regs only apply to parts of a private dwelling used solely for work purposes if its used by more than one person who does not live there or members of the public attend to deliver or receive goods or services.
It's unlikely that any of your employees will fall within the this scope therefore I would let it lay. Even if you do have employees who do come within this scope I would still be inclined to leave well alone. You'll do more harm to your credibility if you try and get people to display signs in their own home and in any case who is going to enforce this part of the regs? No one I suspect.
