Posted By Darren J Fraser Afternoon This falls outside my area of knowledge. A neighbour will be taking this exam in a couple of weeks time, and has asked if I know what the difference is between book 6 & 7. He has book 6, but does not want to purchase book 7 if it is the same (merely updated) As I said this is outside my area of knowledge, so any help would be most grateful.

Posted By Chris Dolan Hi Darren, I recently sat this test, I compared some of the earlier books and found a few changes though not many. Book 7 will include questions on legislation that has changed recently. It is difficult to comment on the value of buying the book, to my mind the questions were sufficiently simple to answer without using a book. I guess it depends on your friends knowledge of construction H&S. Given that the books contain the actual questions that a selection is taken from with a photographic memory there may be an advantage. On a percentage basis it is unlikely that many of the questions will have been replaced so as I said I guess it comes back to actual knowledge. Regards, Chris

Posted By Darren J Fraser I understand it to be a touch screen test. Regarding his knowledge, he is at the level of supervisor/foreman for as he puts it 'shifting muck'. He has sat the test in the past, I understand it to be a refresher, and he just wishes to know if buying book 7 would actually be beneficial when he already has book 6. In other words if book 7 is a massive difference to book 6 then worth buying, but if only minor changes then is it worth it, and what are the changes. As I stated in the original post, this is outside my area of knowledge. Many thanks for all the help both on forum and direct contact.
