Posted By a grá Can you please advise on what exactly should go into the H&S plan before work begins and what should be in the plan upon completion. Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

Posted By Mal Shiels Morning, as per previous caller use the ACOP. Appendix 3 gives clear guidance on content of construction phase health and safety plan. Document delivered at end is not the plan but the health and safety file, pages 62 and 63 of the ACOP will inform you on the contents. Regards, Mal

Posted By The toecap Basically any pre-construction information. Things you need to know that will keep you and your guys safe as you construct. Perhaps the previous history and contents of a building. Maybe any analytical data, history of the surrounding environment.

Posted By Ciaran McAleenan Dear a grá Just to be clear the information to go into a construction phase plan is that which is needed to ensure that planning management and monitoring arrangement arrangements are spelt out to all interested parties. It should identify how the contractor will address the key health , safety and welfare issues particular to the project and has been suggested is not static. Circumstances during construction may require review and modification. But remember since it is about ensuring that the construction project proceeds to a successful conclusion (i.e. no damage to the health, safety and welfare of those involved) then your second question "what should be in the plan upon completion". The answer is simple; Nothing When the construction is complete the plan has no further use, however there may be some information gleaned during construction that could go into the Clients' health and safety file. This document should contain information that is relevant to the health and safety of any future construction work. Best wishes Ciaran
