I have recently beeen appointed as CDM Co-ordinator for a contract to refurbish a number of Housing Association properties, a number of these are believed to have been frequented by Mr & Mrs Squatter with the possibility of needles and other items associated with drug use left behind.
I have advised the client we should be passing relevant information onto the Prinicpal Contractor on potential hazards one of which being the possibility of needles & sharps.
to determine whether there actually are needles and sharps we need the properties surveying. Does anyone know a company that would do this or could point me in the right direction? i've tried to local council and Environment Agency but no luck!!
Thanks
Gareth

Gareth,
A number of organisations do dirty house clearance which may be a consideration. You may as well get the specialist to remove the items rather than survey as it will probably save costs in the long run.
I know that Terminix Pest Control used to offer this service.

You may want to try PHS Waste Management. Not sure if they do 'surveys' but I believe they offer 'clean up' services.
Hope this helps
