Posted By Robert K Lewis The formal response from IOSH is now on the homepage link. I have to say that i am a little disappointed at the extreme brevity and negativity of much of the responses. Having said that there are many areas where I broadly agree. I think for me the problem is that the Gov have seen no real change with the voluntary approach and there is a strong anti-fly tipping agenda. These regulations probably will not assist in themselves but they may well make contractors even on small works think harder about their waste stream. Bob

Posted By J Knight To say that 'industry could grind to a halt' seems a tad strong to me, but then what do I know, its not like i work in a haevily regulated sector, after all; Healthcare only has half-a dozen regulators or so, nothing to get excited about, John

Posted By Robert K Lewis My thoughts exactly - Is there a touch of the ostrich around here? 10+ years ago I was developing these for projects and know that many of the savings claims are almost impossible to verify. I have seen statements such "zero waste achieved" on a project. LAs having zero waste requirements in planning conditions. 60% saving on waste costs. Perhaps the issue is that the SWMP post project review might bring some birds home to roost? Bob
