Posted By Tony W Good afternoon Folks, Do any of you kind people out there have a risk assessment in relation to helicopters arriving and departing from business premises? I know its along shot but I live in hope. Not being lazy I promise, the old saying about reinventing wheels comes to mind. Thanks in hope rather than expectancy. TW

Posted By Rachael Palmer I don't have anything but have you spoken to the Civil Aviation Authority www.caa.co.uk they must have guidance on what's required / potential hazards etc. This should be something provided by the company supplying the Helicopter and the pilot flying them. They should also be providing you with clear guidance and their requirements for a safe landing / take off.

Posted By Richie Hello, The Civil Aviation Publication covering this is CAP 428. Here is a link: http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/33/CAP428.PDFYou should be rest-assured that commercial pilots are aware of this document and would be expecting to abide by it. Planning requirements and so forth would be down to the company in question, but this would be 'old ground' for seasoned FMs. This link gives you good practical guidance on setting up a HLS and then running one: http://www.bhab.flyer.co.uk/guidelines.htmAll freely available at the click of a mouse! Happy reading! Richie.

Posted By Lilian McCartney Try Aberdeen Royal Infirmary as they have helicopters landing with patients from outlying areas.
Expect the Coastguard are the same (seen on tv programme landing on public beaches)

Posted By Ken Taylor I've always required CAA approval, details of pilots requirements for landing facilities, fire cover and, where necessary, as determined by risk assessment, crowd control and security measures - except, of course, for emergency landings by air-ambulance, police helicopters and the like.
