I noted the article on the site about the can that exploded with dire results.

To day one of my engineers climbed out of his van and dropped a can of expanding foam on the floor which promptly ruptured sending foam and can all over the place.Engineer covered in the stuff.

I was curious, anyone else suffered from exploding cans, is this a daily event in the UK, or is it well known that a percentage of cans will implode..

There has been a thread on this already:

Report it to the manufacturer (assuming it is the same one) as they will no doubt want to know about it as part of the ongoing investigation.

Yo, thanks for that, our can was from a different manufacture.

Cause was definitely dropping, still I have informed all people in the chain of getting said can to our site.

Must be a one off, could do with a one off on the lottery

Hello Garry,

I am very surprised by the accident that happened. It is difficult to understand what happened and everybody is making assumptions. In your case it seems obvious what the reason is for the leaking can, you wrote that it did fall from a truck. In the safety prescriptions is written to handle an aerosol can always with care. The result of the fall was a mechanical damage. I beleive that the manufacterers of foam do test everything ahead and in case they know there is a risk they would not take it because nobody wants to have accidents.
In case you compare with a car, no car manufacterer is making cars to have accidents, but they do happen. Is that because of the car manufacterers or because of the drivers ?
Very often such accidents happen because of a human error like dropping the can. I have never heard of someone killed by a can of foam, this is the first time in my carreer. I hope it will be the only one.
