One for a Friday...Safety Manager is at the top of two flights of Metal stairs, goes to put phone in back pocket, misses, phone goes down the flights of stairs, bounces a few times on the way down and lands on the floor at the bottom in 3 bits.

Safety Manager spends 30mins trying to find the battery that fell out and amazingly the phone still works!..so i raised a Near Miss against myself (as it was witnessed by two employees, who were chanting near miss at me lol) and gave myself a stearn talking to about using phones on stairs!....can't wait to report that in the morning meeting!

Is it hometime yet?.....

No it is not home time yet!!

Health and safety rules say you are not allowed to go home because you may have an accident or at the very least a near miss on the way.

Before you can go home you need to ensure that the roads are blocked off and that the two employees that observed your earlier breaking of health and safety rules are there to act as stewards to get you home safely.

By the way the council are going to charge you £18000 pound for this as this is also required by health and safety rules. So there

Regards
Ted

You should also ensure that use of mobile phones near stairs are banned forthwith!

Better still leave work and take them to the pub with you for commendably encouraging you to follow your own rules.

Ban working on friday afternoons, its obvious your mind was not on the job and fatigue was a major factor in your near miss

I feel you now need counselling regarding the stress of trying to find the battery for 30 minutes. Feelings of helplessness and frustration in the job (not finding the battery), therefore I should do an assessment on yourself, send yourself home early and have a stiff G&T or V&T (whatever your poison might be), and contemplate taking a few weeks off due to the shocking work conditions you are expected to work in!

Have a great weekend, thanks for cheering up my Friday afternoon.
