Posted By Ian Hi there
Can someone give some advice on what I could include in the Emergency Rescue Plan for the following scenerio:
Inside Working - Access to the working area in a tower is via, a narrow spiral staircase, 1m staircase, 3m vertical fixed access ladder, a vertical 5m Fixed access ladder and finally a 3m vertical fixed access ladder, all with rest areas between. Added to this are the overhead steel beams obstructing the accessway. There are no Fall Arrester systems in place. All Risk Assessments and Method Statements for the actual works are acceptable. However, providing ways of removing (without the aid of the Local Authority Emergency Services) an injured person from any part of the Accessway/working area is proving difficult, especially as those companies that may be working in this area are small companies.
many thanks
Ian
