Posted By Karen Allinson I am trying to gather up information for a client who is intersted in 'Fatigue and Alertness' training for their shift workers. Has anyone had any dealings with this before and could point me in the right direction for some advice or background reading?
kind Regards,
Karen

Posted By Ian G Hutchings Karen A fair bit of work has been done on fatigue in high hazard industry and some research in the rail industry: see www.rssb.co.uk and do a search on fatigue in the research project reports. There are signs of fatigue and diet etc. which are important for shift workers, as well as diabetes and other factors that can have an impact. I can also email details of a contact who may know more if you want to email me via the link. However it is still critical to have the management and work place risk controls on the ball as well, so responsibility is not solely delegated to the shift worker. Cheers Ian
