Posted By waiks Sorry if this subject has been done before but do you encourage staff to report bad backs injuries in your accident book? Specifically if it doesn't relate to an accident but to DSE failures such as working long hours and not taking breaks. The issue with health is that usually the IP doesn't really know how they got their injury so sometimes the 'stories' are inconsistent too. So do you add them to your accident report stats or deal with them separately as part of DSE assessments?

Posted By Stuart C I'm not sure about the accident book, but you clearly need to be recording and collating the incidents in some manner. Its the case with MSDs that most time off/ill health results from this chronic exposure rather than one off incidents. Management of the issue needs proper sickness absence recording.
