Has anyone else had spot checks carried out by the LA for evidence of smoking in enclosed places - 2 of our sites have been so far (both completely different LA's) and so far they have been very helpful - although they did say at one that they were responding to an anonymous call - but on inspection realised that it was obviously a hoax - which they then said that about 70% of the calls that they were receiving ended up being false allegations!!

Well given that the boxer chap was shot because he told a nightclub punter to stop smoking I would say that, yes, the smoking polis are at considerable risk.

Part of my very mixed feelings about smoking/non-smoking rooms vs a total ban is that I've been threatened in a pub just for explaining to somebody that there were no ashtrays in the room because it was a no smoking room. Understand, I didn't ask them not to smoke, just answered a question, and was threatened in very intimidating terms,
