Posted By david blair No, all you need to do is prove your competent to do pat testing, most colleges run 1 day pat testing courses which would give required competency

Posted By david blair Tony, Your right there is no law specificly stating pat testing but can you advise another way in which you ensure portable electrical equipment is maintained so that it is safe to use and I and others will surely stop wasting money on pat testing !!!!

"'Electrical Equipment' includes anything used, intended to be used or installed for use, to generate, provide, transmit, transform, rectify, convert, conduct, distribute, control, store, measure or use electrical energy."
