Posted By CFT Can anyone with beryllium knowledge help me out on a soil contamination issue? I would like to know whether the inert properties (storage of raw material) are time limited with respect to a soil contam point of view.
Thanks

Posted By Dave Todd Beryllium will never oxidise.
If in soil, it is as lethal as the day it was buried. Do not try to disturb the area in which it has layen.
Nor will it ever be inert.
Time scales are perhaps inappropriate with this particular element.
Seek help & advice from NASA or BNFL.
Good Luck............................

Posted By Chris Packham Someone who has done considerable work with beryllium is Greg Day in the USA. I believe his e-mail address is: gdd2@cdc.govI know Greg well so if you are contacting him it might help to explain how this came about. Chris
