After all the flak surrounding H & S conkers and other daft quotes can somebody from IOSH call the BBC/Press/Media and kindly put the record straight.
Most professionals distance themselves totally from rash decisions regarding safety issues, and I too was flabbergasted when somebody blamed " Health & Safety " for stopping a Grandmother from tendering her flowerbed. Why cant we have named officers instead of using the old " H & S " excuse. I know for a fact that the main architect who proposed the banning of the Mathew St festival has no Safety expertise whatsoever, it was just another bad day at the H & S office. The same goes for the Tesco fiasco. Lets start naming and shaming these ignorants and can we please start fighting back

They do all the time, they make many press releases to papers and sites, but what sells more? over exagerated alarmist stories i think.

Saw one the other day about a great white of cyprus, mid holiday season, a journalist went out looking for it and found one (theres bound to be several in the med) baited it with food from the boat then said "it followed us back to Larnica"!
