I am about to look at a building that will be refurbished overnight( window replacement) while the office works during the day.
Due to slopes etc a mewp seems the best solution, but it will need lights.
I have spoken to IPAF and the spokesman said that they had never heard of a MEWP being used with lights.
Anyone had any experqince of this? as I said I have yet to visit site to complete a risk assessment

Do you mean lights on the MEWP or just the area lit by temporary lighting? The latter will suffice.

The work area would need to be well lit in any event which would negate the need for lights on the MEWP. The MEWP should not go anywhere (even if you could get lights for it) where you would have to use "car headlight" type of lighting. There should be a very strictly controlled transport management plan but if the area is well lit it shouldn't be dissimilar from working in the day.

Allan,
We often work at Night with MEWPS but never had any with lights on. When we move them around site, Airports, we always escort with a lead and tail vehicle with the lights on. Work-sites are then set up with lighting towers and traffic management so no need for lights on the mewps at ground level.
