I'm in the process of putting together a powerpoint presentation on why we need PPE in an electronics company (shoes in this instance) and am at the point of what legislation says about it.
Q1. Is there any legislation apart from HASAW74 - SECTIONS 7 & 8, MANAGEMNT REGS - RISK ASSMT, that say out right that 'you the employee must wear the PPE given to you'? Have tried looking through the HSE's website but found it not very helpful on PPEW.
Q2. Does any one have a p/point presentation that they wouldn't mind me having a look at for inspiration on the same subject?
Thanks in advance.

Is it just shoes you are looking at. My experience in several electronics plants is that they have chemical hazards and are frequently using the wrong gloves. If this is something you need to look at get in touch and I can point you in the right direction.

Regulation 10 of Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regs 1992. It even imposes a duty to use PPE on self-employed people!

In this instance Yes just shoes. Most of our items are bought in for assembly.

Thanks I thought there was something there. I don't suppose you have a link to the exact wording?

http://www.opsi.gov.uk (formerly HMSO) go to this site and type in the regulation name in the search bar. Its has all the acts and regulations in their lovely original format.

Thanks Simon.

Q1 sorted, any one willing to let me have a peek at their p/point presentations for inspiration?
