with the reasons of this avoidable tragedy now known. it shows us our law still lacks proper legislation in relation to corporate manslaughter/ homicide(new corporate manslaughter bill still doean't go far enough) and until imprisonment is the only verdict will health and safety be taken seriously by all employers.
9 people lose their lives and the employers looking at getting a fine, now where is the justice there.

OK, got it now, did a quick google. Gas oven blew in Glasgow.
Sentencing has been deferred but I hope someone goes to jail.

Craig.

I think part of the issue is that we DON'T know enough about what happened which is why there are widespread calls for a public inquiry.

see e.g.

Merv. No prosecutions of individuals. Hence, noone will go to jail.

Regards, Peter

hi peter

After 3 years i believe they know exactly what happened, and who was at fault, the point of the public enquiry will be to release out into the open the full truth about the tragedy.
due to the guilty verdicts much of this will remain hidden.
i think the families want to know why they were failed and by who either the employers or the enforcing body.
as i said before once again we will see guilty people walking away with murder, and until there is legislation with a bit of teeth they will continue to do so!
in my opinion the up coming coporate manslaughter/homicide bill has been seriously watered down from what a MSP originally proposed.
