Good morning everybody.
I initially posted this query on the study forum, and although 172 people looked at it I have not recieved one response. Can anybody help please?
I have been putting off my next level qualification for some time now; mainly because my roles have not really merited a higher level. However I have resolved to do something about it and am looking at the ways and means.
I would like to do the conversion course from Diploma 1 to The New Diploma but am having difficulty identifying the right provider. In addition I cannot really afford the full price for block study and think my only option is to do distance learning with the odd workshop.
I would be grateful if any of you could share their experiences of the distance learning route for either the conversion course or the full Diploma course.

Try RRC. I studied Part 2 with them and found them to be very good.

Not much help mate as never did mine by Distance Learning but over the last 20 years or so RRC have gained a very good reputation.

Again, I used RRC distance learning for the Dip2 and passed first time being a lad from the shop floor so to say.
Some things for you to consider though before going on such a venture,
1. Make sure you have a peer or someone whom has been there and done it whom can give you support. A fella called Mac came to my rescue late on in the course but helped me no end with exam study.
2. make sure you utilise the tutors whom RRC have for you to call. Again I started by not wanting to bother them but that is the wrong approach to take and I had to call them loads of times near the end.
3. Make time, plenty of time. RRC course material is well known for being somewhat a big read. They do this in a very good way though and it tests you on the way. Don't do what I did and try to cram it all in at the last minute (3 months)
4. Say goodbye to your life for at least a year. I had to defer a exam sitting as I was too flippant on the study side for the first year.

Thanks for the replies.
I did my Part one with the RRC and have already earmarked them for the next level.
Unfortunately they do not do the conversion course so I will have to do the whole thing. It will be good revision though I guess.
Did any of you do the e-learning option - if so how was it?

Why not use your Part 1 as an entry to an IOSH accredited University Diploma, I did.
Its CMIOSH you need not NEBOSH.

I am not sure that I am with you on this one ITK.
My ultimate aim would become CMIOSH as a member of IOSH, but the route to that,I believe, includes the NEBOSH Diploma qualification.
Any advice welcome though - what can you tell me about the IOSH accredited University Diploma?

Posted By ITK I was trying, perhaps unsuccesfully, to say you could broaden your search from NEBOSH to university qualifications to attain GradIOSH. I was a Dip1 holder, just like you, and used this as entry onto an IOSH accredited university diploma course. I am now a CMIOSH. http://www.iosh.co.uk/in...m?go=membership.gradiosh

Have a look in 'About Membership' at the courses accredited for Grad IOSH membership. These are either university offered 'Professional Diplomas' or Bachelors degrees. I think Greenwich is the only one available in the SE and I am not sure if Diploma part 1 will be sufficient for entry. It is worth enquiring though.
