Pallet trucks - do they require examination and certification under LOLER?

I suspect they do require consideration under LOLER but would welcome other members opinion and advice.

it is my understanding they should be. Your insurance company should add them to their list of inspections

Our insurers check ours at periodic intervals, in fact they are coming tommorrow to do some.

Bit done a few time this one Alan. No need for the examinations. Apply PUWER.

If anyone has any doubt about what I'm advising do what I did, write to the HSE. Their LOLER Policy Department will confirm.

LOLER does not apply as the primary function of the pallet mover is to move not lift.

Have just spoken to HSE info line who gave the following:
Hand powered trucks LOLER does NOT apply but PUWER does.
Battery powered trucks DO come under LOLER.
