Posted By Taff2 Curious to know about the history of this forum - which thread(s) had the highest number of hits / responses? & what was the topic(s)?

Posted By Pugwash The Humberside Fire and Rescue Service smoke detector thread went on and on and on, and just when you thought no more could be said on this topic, more was said. I played a part:-) There were 117 posts in total to the thread so it has to be the winner. http://www.iosh.co.uk/in...iew&forum=1&thread=24686P

Posted By Corrina Evans I would like to put in one of my threads as a challenger here-stress posted on 3/8/04 ran until 20/8/04 and nearly 160 responses. I do still have some hair left (see original thread) and I am now involved with some really positive work around stress in our organisation. Corrina

Posted By Pugwash Toecap, "most viewed" counts for nought as the figure can easily be increased by repeated views of the thread from the same IP address. In simple terms, if you have absolutely nothing better to do you can keep pressing F5 on your keyboard and watch the "views" number increase and increase and increase, probably with no upper limit. Go on, try it and see. You know you want to. Yes you do!
However the IOSH webmaster could probably fix this relatively easily. Many page view counters only count one view from each IP address. Then we could accurately measure both size and the number of times it has been looked at. But how to measure quality?
