Hi All
I wonder if somebody could point me in the right direction of where i can obtain information with regards to emergency planning. We look after several thousand university students across the country and the emergency plan we already have is a bit woolly to say the least, but i am struggling to find information and case studies.

I have split the plans into categories. 1 being low priority e.g. affecting individual students, unlikely to impact on other staff/students and unlikely to attract media attention. Category 2 being loss of life, threat to life, severe disruption to the building and incidents that may attract media attention.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Try on the individual universities web sites. I found this useful when looking for procedures for bomb scares.

Tracey,

I've done a bit of a brain dump on the "Disaster Recovery" thread.

Some of it may be useful.

Make a Freedom of Information Act request to the accommodation offices of some of the larger universities that own/manage their own halls perhaps?

Hello
It would seem highy likely that in such an environment, your emergency planning would probably need to involve outside agencies such as fire, ambulance, police and local authority etc. as a response to some forseeable emergency scanarios so it may well be advisable to ask the question of them and "pick their brains"!!
