Posted By lee boylan Hi all,
I am just in the process of completing a risk assessment for entry into a confined space.
Does anyone have a emergency plan that I could look at and possible adapt to fit in to my site.
Any response welcome.
Cheers
Lee

Posted By Philip McAleenan lee,
it is best that you develop your emergency plan from scratch as all circumstances, sites etc. differ and even adapting someone else's plan may not be sufficient to cover the circumstances of your site, or indeed the variety of confined spaces that may be on site.
In doing it this way you will have a fuller appreciation of the hazards and the controls necessary for your site.
For guidance, pps 22 - 25 of the ACoP will give you pointers on developing the plan.
Regards, Philip

Posted By garyh The above is good advice; the ACOP is good reading.
Don't fall into the trap of stating that the plan is to call the emergency services. This will not wash.
You may well open up a can of worms; you may well end up having to train people, buy equipment etc.

Posted By Raymond Rapp I would dearly love a copy of the Confined Spaces ACoP...if it does not break any copyright law that is. If it does...please contact me direct to discuss. Many thanks.
