Good Morning All,
Could some-one point me in the right direction regarding guidance on how often RPE face fits should be conducted.
I believe they have to be re-checked every 2 years, but as good practice we check them every year (work with Asbestos) and the Guys obviously check them and the supervisor before each use.
Regards
Naomi

To save you trawling through 282/28

Once and again if wearer suffers significant weight loss, weight gain, has dental work, scarring in the area of the face seal etc.

Lots of companies seem to be adopting retesting every 2 years as it is a good way of highlighting any of the above and where retraining (in donning techniques) is required.

Naomi - best practice for working with asbestos is going to be introduced for testing on an annual basis......likely to be the next revision of the regs. Other COSHH scenarios remain as described on another posting as following change in facial structure, work activities or supplier of the equipment.

Yes FFP3 mus be absolute minimum for low scale asbestos works.
