Posted By Austin. U Goodmorning all,
Please I wish to find out the maximum allowable height for stacking of steel beams. These beams are between 4-6 metres long and weighing 250kg each.
I advised that they should not be 1metre high on stable ground and uniform butress, but I need to back up my advise.
Please is there any legislation, guidance or ACOP on this?
Regards, Austin.

There is no stated limit as to what height you can stack materials (steel or other). You do need to ensure the ground conditions and that the stack remains stable, also that the height & weight limit of equipment you intend to use to load or unload the stack is not exceeded.
Its back to the old risk assessment again - identify all the conditions & equipment and their limits before deciding on the appropriate height.
Regards Pete Walker
